How does the Blockchain work?

This video from “Simply Explained” provides an audio-visual explanation of how the Blockchain works. Here’s our definition: Blockchain is a type of distributed digital ledger that records information in a series of linked “blocks.” Each block contains a batch of verified transactions, a timestamp, and a unique cryptographic code that connects it to the previous block, forming a secure chain. Copies of the blockchain are stored across a network of computers, which work together to validate new entries through consensus. Because blocks are linked and secured with cryptography, it is extremely difficult to alter past records, making blockchain a transparent, tamper-resistant system for storing and transferring data.
