Mission

The Black Blockchain Student Network (BBSN) exists to expand access to blockchain education for Black students and the communities we serve. We support student leaders in hosting beginner friendly, campus based Blockchain Basics workshops through Black student organizations such as BSUs, African Student Associations, National Society of Black Engineers, and related groups.

What We Do

BBSN is a student led network that helps members learn from each other across campuses and bring practical, understandable blockchain education to their peers.

We support students by providing:

  • Clear, beginner friendly curriculum and workshop materials

  • Planning support for campus events and collaborations with Black student organizations

  • A peer network to share ideas, speakers, formats, and what works on different campuses

  • Pathways to internships, hackathons, and other opportunities in the blockchain ecosystem

Principles

BBSN is built on a few simple principles:

  • Education first: We focus on learning and understanding the technology.

  • Student led: Campus events and collaborations are initiated and shaped by students.

  • Campus appropriate: Programming is designed to fit student life rules and campus culture.

  • Community centered: We prioritize outreach that benefits Black students and our communities.

  • No pressure: Participation is opt in, and we move at the pace that makes sense locally.

How to Get Involved

If you are a student interested in learning blockchain basics or hosting a Blockchain Basics workshop with your campus organization, we would love to connect.

Select campus engagements delivered through invited programming include:

University of Colorado Boulder | National Society of Black Engineers | February 17, 2026

University of Colorado Denver | National Society of Black Engineers | February 19, 2026
